Overview
La Definition is a mixed-use development with a particular emphasis on residential and hotel. The development occupies a 22 acres plot size comprising of two residential towers (Towers A & B) with approximately 112 apartments each and hotel (Tower C) with 70 keys, supporting and additional 71 branded apartments and penthouses. Recreational and sports facilities supporting the residential complex are integrated into the masterplan. La Definition will be the first West African development to be certified under the new EDGE sustainability rating.
Prior to founding Urban Systems Design, our Directors - whilst at ChapmanBDSP - led the technical design of La Definition.
Key Design Features
100% standby power provided for to all areas of the development.
An energy centre is planned based on gasification of sustainable waste streams (dewatered sewage sludge, ground tyres etc.) to produce a very clean syngas and generate electricity and heat for the development.
Integration of PV and BIPV (the latter as shading for facades).
The application of water recycling system using UFRO technologies that will reduce demand for borehole water by up to 80% (through use of rainwater and greywater).
The development is expected to be the first in West Africa certified under the new EDGE sustainability rating, introduced by the IFC/World Bank.
